About Rayenia

Jasmyne Faea Sidona came to the Tower just after her seventeenth summer under the wing of an Aes Sedai who had traveled to Saldaea to retrieve the teenager specificaly after taking Jasmyne's sister to the Shining Walls four years prior. Jasmyne wasn't too keen on the prospect in the beginning, considering how adament her mother had been in keeping her home. Jasmyne always wondered what was in those letters sent home from Rayenia that disauded Regina from wanting her second daughter to study with the Aes Sedai. However, the Aes Sedai won out and took Jasmyne on the long trek back to Tar Valon with stops along the way for the Aes Sedai to check on other girls of noble birth.

During the length of the journey, the Aes Sedai helped bring Jasmyne to her first touching and subsequint embraces thereafter. Each night after supper, the Aes Sedai would sit down with Jasmyne and go through the various exercises. Opening herself like a budding rose to the sun was the first meditation exercise but the one that helped her the most was the flowing river and the embankment. It reminded her of the manner music flowed from note to note, which was her passion. Her strength, then, determined being in Fire and Spirit, especially after Jasmyne accidently set aflame a pile of clothing waiting to be washed. However, in the beginning, she wasnt even able to see Earth... much less try and do anything with it. After the fire incident, the journey was mostly inconsequential. The lessons continued and Jasmyne became more and more adept in her lessons, but by no means, a master.

After arriving to the Isle, the Aes Sedai left Jasmyne in the care of the Mistress of Novices without so much as a glance back to make sure she was well taken care of or a goodbye. After such a lengthy amount of time traveling, she thought she grew to knew the mysterious woman, but was dumbfounded in the manner she was treated and discarded before the Aes Sedai swept away with her warder in tow.

The Mistress of Novices, a seemingly kindly woman, took Jasmyne into the fold of the White Tower more like a mother hen might sweep up her chics and scurry them away. Down hallways and corridors, past large rooms and small studies until finally reaching the belly of the beast, or something Jasmyne would think on later, the pair arrived to the Mistress of Novices study. After rules and expectations were handed down to her, like many novices before her, Jasmyne watched her silken threads burn to ashes by the Mistress of Novices. A ceremonial shedding of one's past to embark on a new future like a clean white lamb ready for the slaughter. At least in Jasmyne's eyes. She had seen her sister leave four years before with only letters to signify how she was doing. She was antsy to see her sister again.

What luck that Jasmyne was assigned a room right beside her sister's. Having the advantage of her sister's knowledge of four years, Jasmyne found herself soaring through her studies. However, Jasmyne had to share her room with a plump Cairhienian farm girl, Jaenacia, who snored louder then a bull horn. It didnt help that the two instantly hated each other and would prove to be the burr in Jasmyne's side for another three years when Jasmyne finally had the last laugh. However, during that time, Jasmyne found herself more oft in trouble then she cared to be, her hands elbow-deep in soapy water either doing dishes or laundry or both. Jasmyne was itching to get back at her snitch, considering she was always careful to keep her activities a secret and would even have gotten away with them if not for her roommate's vindictiveness. Because of all the trouble Jasmyne was getting into in the first three years, it delayed her ceremonial pass through the arches. Jasmyne knew this and vowed to find a way to do more then the usual pranks against her roommate.

The Creator must have heard her prayers for retribution when Rayenia had just passed through the arches the night before and was given three days off after the ordeal when Jasmyne first came upon the news and formulated her plan to rid herself of the pesky roommate. The two sisters were sitting up in the hay loft of the stables spending the day together when Jasmyne's attention was focused on a trinket, a coin with nine bees on the front which hung on a string one of her beau's had given her before leaving the isle, when Jaenacia entered the stables below with her brother huddled beside her speaking in soft whispers. Dying to know what the two were talking about, Jasmyne stumbled upon her little Spirit trick to listen from afar with the coin as the 'hearing piece'. Alarmed, Rayenia huddled in close to Jasmyne as the two listened to the siblings below, while trying to voice a demand that Jasmyne stop immediatly.. but the information received through that small coin had both girls gasping in disbeleif. In less then a week, the plan went through without a hitch. Jaenacia was ordered to leave the isle with enough to get her home and some additional coin to last a year. Her brother had followed her to Tar Valon with all intensions of protecting his sister, so when she was banned, he went with her.

As often as the two girls could manage, Jasmyne practiced under her sister's watchful eye from the time Jasmyne arrived to well into Rayenia's accepted years. After some pestering, Rayenia was not only watching over Jasmyne and her own lessons, she was also showing her younger sister some of the more difficult teachings. The younger sibling would have flown through her novice years if not for the first three years with the roommate and Jasmyne's unruliness and wild ways being reported. Jaenacia had made it her perogative to snitch on the Saldaean after witnessing the blond with her brother. However, even with the early troubles, Jasmyne only spent six years in Novice white.
