IC Paintings

On this page, I've dedicated to the text paintings Jezz has done while either in RP (role play) or IC (in character). I'll be adding more as I remember the paintings she has done while growing up in the White Tower to the newer sketches and paintings she does in the future. If I had an ounce of artistic ability, I would sketch this stuff out too.. However.. I dont. So, marvel at my creative writing genius...

...Didnt fool you? Damn.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Hibernation

This painted imagery has a sureal quality, a couple atop of a jagged cliff while a sublimely tranquil valley stretches off into the background.  Flowering trees and wild flowers dot the far landscape with Spring colors while russeling grasses are painted in shades from emerald to jade.  A clear, sapphire river flows lazily through the valley like a bloated snake. In the foreground, a dune-blond haired warrior has recenlty climbed the rocky, almost baren cliffs from the valley below, his dark attire and the cliffs clashing with the eye-pleasing colors of the valley in the background. A prone, auburn-tressed woman is cradled in his arms after being plucked from a patch of ivy. The petite beauty seems limp, as though sleeping deeply, with one arm hanging down towards the ground. Her body is barely covered in a gossamir, lacy white gown, the sort that cascades down one's figure. The ivy has grown and entertwined itself about her slender body, the leaves strategically covering the most personal of her womanly traits while the ends of the vines dangle along the ground.

This painting was done during RP. Valaur and Jezz were in conversation while she was painting this piece. It's symbolic of the relationship between the two.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Valaur Brys Trensieni

Relaxing easily in a comfortable, forest-green upholstered chair, the broad shouldered Kandori man in question has a languid presence of a lounging wolf, even within the painting done by his mate.  Bronze and earthen tinged eyes look out from behind an angular, ruggedly handsome face while his unfettered, straight dune blonde lengths fall past his shoulders, an intricate braid falls just over his right ear.  His torso is covered with a fine white linen tunic which is unlaced at the neck revealing the glint of metal of his medallions under the tunic.  The tunic is paired with an overlapping stylish, black vest while a pair of dark, form-fitting breeches reach into a pair of leather boots which are turned down at the ankle.  Propped against the arm of the chair are two black scabbards, one shorter than the other, with the look of use.  In one of his hands, he props an open book palmed along the spine. What might be from a window, golden highlights strike the side of his face and the rugged growth on his chin.

This was painted in the sitting room in Kandor when Jezz and Valaur had gone there for the winter months. She had asked him if he would grow out the forked beard that the Kandori men are known for wearing. This piece now hangs in her room in the White Tower.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Benoit deMott and Drinian

A small framed painting of a tower trained gent and a bushy, brown wolfhound with doleful brown eyes. The Murandian-dressed fellow is seated in a plush, red chair with a book in one hand and his sword laying across his lap, the background is faded out which could be construed as a library. A lamp light highlights the side of his clean shaven features.  At his feet, the large wolfhound is resting its chin on the man's knee.

This was sketched out (and later painted) in the library of the White Tower when Drinian lost both of his humans to a tragedy. This was prior to Maelyn running away since she wanted to keep the hound.

Given to Kyoshiro:

A drastically different then the more 'realistic' style used by this particular artist. However, this painting.. though vaguely reminiscent of the Seanchan style - has a definite uniqueness as it meshes two different schools of thought into one painting. Rather simplisitic in its base nature - with finer details in certain points of interest.

The length of the left hand side, taking up a third of the painting, is a stylized three story, white-washed building, padoga-esce in its intricate details along the three-tiered tiled rooves and arched eaves. The elaborate stained woodwork, highly styled designs of wild animals, run the length of every one of the eaves. Upon the top most roof over looking the edge as though about to pounce down upon the unsuspecting prey below, are two statues standing side by side and leaning against one another, the leopard with his head overlapping the neck of the female panther.

On the remainder half of the painting, are simplistic grove of cherry trees in a spender of rich pinks and violets with a bedding of fallen petals which spread for as far as the grove extends.

The golden plaque below reads: "Garden Paradise."

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Hunted

A large painting, which could easily reside over a fireplace, is painted in dark hues depicting a scene in the woods.  Soldiers on horseback, some with crossbows - others with lances and swords, seem to be traveling quickly, by the impression of movement by the artist. Their action flows from the western bottom of the painting towards the center. The object of their hunt is a woman in a long white dress running through the dark, mist-filled forest, long dark tresses streaking behind her in her flight. A white wolf runs along with her, but slightly behind in perspective of the painting. Other wild animals dart the landscape, all in flight with the woman.

This painting was done during the time period directly after Jezz had met and parted ways with Sethric. He's depicted as the white wolf in the painting and she the woman. It's metaphoric and symbolic of their travels together.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
do Jaeyen Family estates, Murandy

A picturesque vineyard on a beautiful clear day, finely detailed to show the fruit hanging on the vine and the large grape leaves which stretches back towards the horizon in rows.  A couple of birds are silouetted in the sky.  A red-washed wood building sits along the right side of the painting which is connected to a water-wheel and peaceful flowing stream. The painting is done in brilliant reds, greens and blues, among other cheerful colors. It's marked with the artist's signiture - Jezz dae'Jaeyen

This is hanging above Jezz's desk in her room in the White Tower. This was painted while she was an accepted when she was feeling homesick.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Masten and Nyla do Jaeyen a'Daemener

This painting is of a well dressed Lugardian couple.  The man has short, dark hair, broad shoulders and dark eyes.  He's dressed in dark colors with lace at the cuff and neck for the current style of his time.  The woman has auburn hair and vibrant green eyes and a slender frame.  She is wearing a modest green dress with excess lace flowing from the the neck and along the cuff then her male counterpart.  They both appear to be in their mid-twenties.  The background is faded and somewhat indistinguishable for the painting itself has faded and turned yellow with age.... more than twenty years from the condition of it.  The signiture is different then Jezz's and the style is somewhat different as well.

This is the only painting Jezz has of both of her parents together. Her mother died with childbirth and her father was murdered when she was a teen. This currently hangs in Jezz's room at the White Tower.

The plaque along the bottom of the frame reads:
Maelyn Da'nell

A small framed painting is clearly of an Altaran lass,  her prminant features are her large, dark eyes and pouty pink lips. Her dark hair flows just to shoulder-length with shadings of an afternoon sun kissing her features. The painting itself has aged some while the young woman herself wears the dress of an accepted. Hanging from a leather thong around her neck is a pierced Illianer coin which casts a glint from a ray of sun touching the edge. A small blossom rests in her hands which she seems preoccupied with while around her are the blurred images of a garden.

This was painted when Jezz had just gained the shawl and her best-friend was still an accepted. When Maelyn ran away from the Tower, she became behind in her studies.

Given to Kyoshiro:

A miniture painting which can easily be held in the palm of a man's hand has the portrait of woman, her hair cascading in wavy, scarlet tresses which cascade over either shoulder. A fan of bangs spreads across her forehead above her eyebrows, while sparkling emerald green orbs out from under long, thick lashes, giving her a doe-eyed look. A slender, petite nose; high cheek bones blushed a natural shade of pink and her lips stained a wine-color are inset in a youthful, alabaster complexioned, oval-shaped face.

A dark, low cut, forest green bodice hugs her torso and slims her waist to near impossible porportions with a paler verdant blouse beginning barely off the shoulder, billowed fabric tapering down to each wrist, ending in fine Murandian white lace. A white gossamer silk scarf wraps twice about her slender throat, while the ends flitter freely over her bosom.

The golden plaque below reads: "Self"
