At
some point after agreeing to escort the Aielman and his five spears, and after the dead faint from the too much running, and
not enough eating or resting. The Yellow on duty was furious, and right so. But Jezz always pushed herself harder when she
found a weakness. And right now, she was too weak to do so in the waking. Hence the walking around in Tel'Aran'Rhiod. Or rather,
Jezz, Sabrina, and Gwen. Jezz was warming up for a run, breaches and a loose top. Sabrina sat on an old log, digging the dirt
out from under her nails with a dagger. Gwen was laying in the grass, fingertip holding a ladybug, her curious gaze watching
the tiny creature. [Jezz]
Gloom
pervades the dream, as it always does, but for once all is not silent. A soft, barely audible thrumming echoes through the
air somewhere through the woods to the south of the three girls. [Ragnarr]
It's
Sabrina who first feels the presence, as she tends to be more alert, more aware. "Jezz, hold off..."
the woman cautions, the dagger blade stilled from its nail picking routine. A large feline, a black jaguar appears at her
feet, the fur bristling slightly. Gwen glances up from the bug, to the sudden appearance of the feline, then to each of her
'sisters'. Sighing, Jezz mutters, "I wish you would get rid of that, he's not .. alive .. anymore."
"Shh." [Jezz]
The
thrumming grows in volume and soon falls at steady intervals, though ever remains little more than a whisper. The sound does
not seem to be approaching, or changing direction, it simply is, there, close by to the south. A flicker of light briefly
spurs into being from that direction, but just as quickly fades as though it never existed. [Ragnarr]
With
a signal from the dark haired 'sister', the black panther erupts into graceful motion loping speedily over the terrain like
a whisper. Sabrina watching it, occupied with what the feline is seeing. Jezz sighs again, "Such a drama
queen.." when she turns toward the south. With a leap, she crosses the distance and lands upon a branch, and settles
into a crouch to look over the terrain. Shortly after, the other two land in the same tree, but on different thick branches.
Sabrina scowls. Gwen sits on the branch, dangling her legs over the edge. [Jezz]
As
the four draw closer, a campsite is clearly outlined along the ground. Perhaps age-old to be even visible, only the deep hearth
and the knoll that rises beside it is truly. As they close, the thrumming grows louder and distinguishable, - a deep bass
breath, before it goes entirely silent. Half obscured by the crest of the knoll, set in a good position to lookout around
the glade, is a large furry brown shape. [Ragnarr]
The
feline hisses, crouched low in the grasses, nose twitching frantically for the scent. Sabrina notices the shape first, pointing
at the furry shape on the ground. Gwen pipes softly, "Ooo doggie!" she moves to clap, but her palms
never touch in the child-like expression. Sabrina snaps her fingers at her. Gwen 'zips her mouth' with a movement of her fingers
across her lips, then 'toss the key' to the side. Sabrina smirks, then returns to investigating, the feline below slowly approaching.
[Jezz]
The
shape obscured by the knoll unfurls itself as the jaguar nears, raising itself up on all four paws. It is, however, not a
dog, nor even wolf that reveals itself, but a full sized-grizzly bear. The bear's maw opens and alongside gleaming white teeth
and lathered spittle, an earth-shaking roar slams through the silence of the dream. A booming, terrifying sound, with the
force of will meant to drive away humans who identically slip into the world of dreams, and perhaps even lesser
nightmares. [Ragnarr]
The
feline suddenly vanishes, Sabrina bracing herself for the shock as the feline being an extension of herself. Personality
within a personality. Why, yes. Inception, perception? Hmm, we'll work on that. Gwen has jumped back 500 yards to the north,
the sound having completely terrified her. Jezz remains still, closing her eyes with the roar, as though its breath were blowing
directly in her face. Opening her emerald gaze, she peers down at the shape, watching it curiously. "Hello,
bear." [Jezz]
Unlike
most bear's, if one took the time to pay close attention, this one's are not brown or nearly black, but a shining yellow,
two gemstones that swivel between the cat, Gwen, Sabrina and finally locking on Jezz as it drops down from it's full risen
height to all fours. His voice is a deep baritone rumbling, altogether human for all it's gutteral sound, "You.
You are not a phantom." [Ragnarr]
"And you are not a bear." Jezz replies, but there is confusion in her gaze. Wolves, yes, but she has stayed
away from them. They have always been far too... aware, then other animals in the Dream. Dropping down from the branch, she
lands deftly on her feet, her garments shifting to a green riding dress with lace at the cuff and neck, a very Murandian-style
dress. Sabrina lands near by, but she wears leather and soft linen. Gwen returns, but she remains in the branches, hiding
mostly behind the tree while peeking out the side down at the bear. The feline does not return. "I wont
hurt you, if you wont hurt me." her hand is held out, palm up to allow it to sniff her hand if he allows her to approach
that close. [Jezz]
The
grizzly's fur rankles and a thrumming warning growl drums up from deep within the creatures chest in warning before Jezz steps
within arms reach, though still it's wide nose snuffles, sucking in deeply the air, it's rumbling voice musing, "Not
a phantom, but walks with goblins. I will not eat you, for now, but this place is sacred and forbidden to you tonight. Walk
elsewhere this day." [Ragnarr]
Pausing,
Jezz doesn't approach closer, allowing her hand to drop by her side. "The Dream is not sacred
space. It just is." "Goblins?!" Jezz cautions Sabrina with a hand, without glancing in the
other's direction, but her gaze searches the grounds, noting the fluttering remnants of a camp, an old fire pit, whereas some
things appear, then disappear. These things, she never really concerned herself with, unless she was looking for something
specific. "What are you guarding?" her gaze shifting back to the bear. [Jezz]
The
bear's claws dig in beneath it, sifting though the rock, grass and dirt underfoot as the beast watches the three, giant pink
tongue lolling over it's lips before returning within the thick head. Thick voice rumbling, "Space is
sacred because it is thought to be so. Tonight, this place is sacred. Why do you wander here rather than rolling among your
blankets?" He seems content with the stand-off for the time being, but also menacingly ready should any move
closer to the camp. Within it's confines, reflections of articles dance in and out of the dream. Here a cookpot, there a blanket,
blue shawl or saddle upon the ground, none save the hearth staying for more than a few heartbearts.
[Ragnarr]
Continues
to idly glance over the various thinks that touch within Tel'aran'rhiad, Jezz's eyebrow arching when she notices the blue
shawl, but it disappeared to quickly for her to know for certain. Gwen lightly lands on the ground and slowly approaches the
bear, but pauses next to Sabrina. "I come here willingly. Unlike most who come here when they dream deeply.
Why do you guard this space, and not roll around in your own blankets?" She asks the bear. It should really be absurd
to be talking to a hulking animal like the strange colored bear. [Jezz]
Ragnarr's
head twists around as Gwen approaches, it's nose once more inhaling deeply as though catching some new breeze. The creature
winks once in an all too familiar human gesture towards Gwen, or perhaps it was just cocking it's head to the side while inhaling.
"Dawn approaches, and this place will soon no longer be guarding anything."
Giggling,
Gwen asks softly, "Can I pet you?" She takes a tentative step forward, bare feet padding
softly along the hard ground. She pauses beside Jezz. The Green sister looks at the child-like 'sister' with a small frown
and a shake of her head. She squats beside the fire-pit, picking up a stick to lightly push around the coals, but the
stick disappears from her hands shortly after. "Do you spend every night here?" She asks, tilting
her head to glance at the bear. From this vantage, she can see the eyes of the bear, the strangely human-ness of them and
the golden color. [Jezz]
Ragnarr
shifts his position, albeit slightly, as Jezz settles before the fireplace. A keen eye might well recognize the non-intrusive
position shift, shrugged away as a mere stretch, for the calculated movement between guarded and threat that are so familiar
to tower inhabitants. Then again, it is a freaking talking bear in tel'aran'rhiod doing it. "What sense
would it be to guard this silly place when it is no longer sacred?"
Jezz
shakes her head, the braid moving gently from side to side. "I did not mean here..." Her finger
touching the ground where she kneels." I meant.. here," her gaze lifts upwards to the surrounding
area. "Dream. Do you walk in Dream nightly?" She asks the bear. "Can I visit
you again?" She glances down at the ground where a kettle appeared briefly, before shifting her gaze back at the bear.
A talking bear, who wouldn't want to chat it up with animals. Gwen's smile fades, her hands grasping behind her
back and twisting her body at the waist to and fro. She even has a pout. She really wanted to pet the bear. Sabrina remains
back. She is not so trusting.
"Most nights save the sleepless, but the world is large and wide, even with few enough within it. Still, the
fates weave, and it would perhaps be pleasant to see you again in sleep" The bear's voice rumbles oddly as it's lips
peel back along large yellow-white teeth, heavy head bringing it's gaze from first Jezz, to Sabrina and finally Gwen. "Dream well, little ones. This place is no longer sacred, wander as you will." his massive frame settles
down into a crouch. [Ragnarr]
"How do I find you again? What's your name?" Jezz asks before the bear leaves. She rises, brushing imaginary
dust from her skirts, her attention on the bear, and getting the nagging feeling in the back of her head. Does she know him?
She doesn't ask. Is he aiel? Do the aiel dream as animals? She would have to ask one of the Wise Ones. Gwen waves,
her hand opening and closing like a child might wave. "Bye bear." Sabrina remains back with a permanent scowl.
[Jezz]
Ragnarr's
lips peel back, but it does offer, "Questions. One among the names I have been given, Jezz of The Aes
Sedai." The crouched creature unwinds like a spring, throwing itself bodily over the three and high into the air in
a gigantic pounce. Despite it's large bulk, sight of it is quickly lost among distance and starless night.
The three watch him erupt into
motion and fly overhead. "Goblins." Sabrina mutters darkly under her breath, approaching the other
two. "I'll goblin him!" In her hand a dagger flashes. "I think he was sweet."
Gwen intones softly, a childlike giggle, "'Cept, he wouldn't let
me pet him. So he was mean, too." Jezz peers up into space, frowning, "Who the bloody hell was
he?" [Jezz]
